Vestibulodynia is also referred to as Vulvar Vestibulitis which means pain in the vestibule region of the vulva. The pain can limit sexual relations, tampon use, and type of clothing worn. Vestibulodynia can also involve dyspareunia or vaginismus.
In physical therapy, we perform a comprehensive evaluation of the pelvic floor and supporting structures. We will aim to release adhesions of the connective tissue which can be the underlying cause of sensitivity of the vestibule. We will treat any underlying abnormalities of the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding tissues. To ensure your comfort and privacy, all Pelvic Floor treatments are held in our Private Treatment Rooms. Please call (408) 736-7600 to schedule an appointment with one of our women’s health and pelvic floor specialists. We look forward to helping you find the relief you deserve from Vestibulodynia and/or other related pelvic floor dysfunction.

My daughter developed a stress fracture due to over-training and lack of proper guidance. She had to sit out her sophomore season and we were afraid her running career would be over. Her self-confidence was way down and we had serious concerns, but thanks to BreakThrough she is “back on track” and continuously improving her times as well as enjoyment for cross country. Thank you!
