Why wait to “see how you do” this season when you can prepare your body for a success with our sports performance program custom tailored for snowboarders? Snowboarders require significant core and lower extremity strength, flexibility and endurance. The most common snowboarding injuries seem to be arm and wrist fractures, but at BreakThrough we see people with hip, knee, ankle and back injuries as well as a result of snowboarding. In order to help prepare you for an enjoyable season, we help you gain wrist and upper extremity mobility and strength, develop core and lower extremity strength using a functional approach to your workout plan. Unfortunately most gym equipment and personal trainers help to build strength, but fail to integrate all the interrelated balance and coordination required of all muscle groups to attack the slopes. Whether it is a smooth powder run through the trees or more aggressive aerial maneuvers that gets your blood flowing, our physical therapists can help.
With our Snowboarding Sports Performance program it’s as easy as 1-2-3:
1) We will first learn about you, your current status and goals for the future.
2) We will then perform a thorough evaluation to assess movement patterns, strength, flexibility and agility.
3) We will explain our findings and design a mutually agreeable program which enables you to achieve your goals.

My daughter developed a stress fracture due to over-training and lack of proper guidance. She had to sit out her sophomore season and we were afraid her running career would be over. Her self-confidence was way down and we had serious concerns, but thanks to BreakThrough she is “back on track” and continuously improving her times as well as enjoyment for cross country. Thank you!
